Be a Nomad
Imagine sitting around a campfire, cold beers in hand, chatting about the best swims of our lives. That's the spirit behind our Nomad Swim Collection. Think back to traversing Costa Rica’s jungle rivers, where the water feels like a secret passage to another world. Or catching waves at epic Pacific surf spots, where it's just you and the ocean, in perfect sync. And who could forget the adventure of tubing in Luang Prabang, Laos (well maybe some could), or the shock of jumping into a freezing Colorado alpine lake, or the surreal warmth of chilling in Iceland's hot springs?
These places, these moments, they're why we made our swim collection. We wanted something that gets it—gets the thrill, the chill, and everything in between. So, here's to all our water escapades. May this collection be with you for every dive, every leap, and every wave that's yet to come.

How is Oystertek made?
Creating OysterTek involves a unique process that transforms seemingly incompatible materials into a revolutionary fabric. Let’s break down the steps involved in crafting OysterTek:
- Harvest the Materials
- Create Polyester Thread
- Heat-Treat the Oyster Shells
Each phase is crucial, so let's dive into the details of how OysterTek comes to life.
STEP 1 – HARVEST THE MATERIALS
OysterTek starts with the sustainable collection of post-consumer oyster shells from oyster farms, which also supply some of the world's finest seafood. Alongside, plastic bottles, sourced from water and soda beverages, are recycled. These bottles, primarily collected through waste management programs, include a portion rescued from beaches to prevent ocean pollution. This recycling effort ensures that plastic bottles are diverted from landfills, where they could linger for up to 450 years.
STEP 2 – CREATE POLYESTER THREAD
At the production facility, these collected plastic bottles undergo cleaning and processing. They are chopped into small flakes, melted, and extruded through fine holes to produce long strands of polyester thread. These threads form the structural base of OysterTek fabrics, turning single-use plastics into a sustainable resource.
STEP 3 – HEAT-TREAT THE OYSTER SHELLS
The sustainability journey continues as oyster shells are heated to extreme temperatures, then cooled and pulverized into a fine powder. This innovative step not only gives OysterTek its distinctive appearance but also enriches the fabric with natural minerals. The oyster shell powder is blended with the recycled polyester threads, culminating in the creation of OysterTek yarns.
Finally, these yarns are twisted and woven or knitted into the final product, offering a comfortable and sustainable alternative to traditional materials. Through this process, OysterTek challenges perceptions, proving that high-quality, eco-friendly fabrics can emerge from the fusion of oceanic and recycled elements.
