A Spring Day in the New Women's Tomboy Popover

Western Rise Tomboy Popover Kelly Watters

I would be lying if I told you that our day-to-day life looks as picturesque as what people see on social media. While we are fortunate to live in an amazing place like Telluride that allows us to get out more than most, days are usually long hauls in the office getting work done, followed by a few moments outside. Life in the mountains, for us, means a strong work-hard/play-hard mentality and taking advantage of weather when we can.

One of the perks of living in Telluride is having access to so many outdoor activities in close proximity to the office. Being able to get out, whether that be hitting a favorite hole on the San Miguel or working on a new problem at Illium Boulders helps clear our heads, inspire new ideas, and put product to the test.

Recently, we took advantage of an unusually warm spring day to explore some places around Telluride that usually don’t open up until later in the season and put the new Women’s Tomboy Popover to the test.

7:45am Gondola ride up to the truck. Hit up The Butcher & Baker for a caffeine boost and breakfast.

8:00am Caffeine has not kicked in yet, but still trying to knock out a few emails for people before I unplug.

10:30am Checking out a new bouldering spot took us a bit to find, but we were happy to discover that it was snow free in most places.

10:40am Solving boulder problems is way better than solving excel spreadsheet problems.

11:00am Practicing some new problems and working on crimping and footwork to get in shape for spring and work off some of the kinks of the office.

3:00pm After a few boulder sets, it’s time to ice the calloused hands and sore legs in the cold runoff waters of the San Miguel.

3:30pm Seeing the the first fish of Spring beginning to rise and hit Blue Wing Olive emergers (one of my favorites) is a sign that the seasons are beginning to change.

6:00pm The fishing was really good so we stayed until the sun slid behind the mountains. Time to head back and swing by Telluride Brewing on the way home.
