- Tim C.Verified Reviewer4 months agoRated 5 out of 5 starsEasy To Travel With This Backpack And Evolution Pants
I tried this backpack for the first time since I bought it. It’s really well organized, thought out and the materials high quality. It makes traveling silent and peaceful because I’m not rolling anything on a surface making noise. It fit well in the overhead compartment.
True to design as well, I was wearing Western Rise evolution pants while waiting at the gate to board my flight. A woman with two kids sat across from me and one of them knocked over and spilled orange juice all over the floor and it splashed onto my pants and backpack. The mother was mortified. I was chill. She apologized profusely, I said it’s alright and I just wiped it off with some napkins and was fine.
Boarded a 5 hour flight no sweat, my pants and bag were just fine. These products proved themselves out in the real world. I’m a non-stressed happy customer.

I'm going to admit I was skeptical at first about this bag since Western Rise specializes in clothing and has never made a travel pack before. The market is already saturated and it's a hard niche to meaningfully innovate in. But somehow, they did it.
There are things about other popular bags, like the Osprey Farpoint and Cotopaxi Allpa, that frustrate me. For example, neither of them are particularly comfortable when fully packed. I've always thought the organization on the Farpoint was suboptimal. Cotopaxi's is better, but still lacking compared to the Travel35, and is not comfortable to wear for a long time fully-packed, especially with a laptop.
The padding on the back of the Travel35 and the straps make it rest comfortably even when fully loaded with a laptop. You don't feel a bulge right up against your back. It's great for a tall guy like me who was never wild about the fit of the Allpa or Farpoint, so much so that I often carried them as duffles with a duffle strap.
You can tell they consulted long-term travelers about organization. Nothing is really a hassle to get to, even things in the main compartment, when on the move. The main compartment comfortably fits a large and small Peak Design packing cube with room on the sides (I used it for flip flops) and top (toiletry bag) to spare. That's even with the very convenient shoe compartment in use, which does eat into the main compartment space a bit.
Speaking of the shoe compartment: I wear a Men's 13. I fit my…

This bag is amazing. Exceptionally well made and perfect for a multi-day trip. I've been searching for a long and tried many other brands, but this is the one! Well designed storage, both for organization, protection and ease of access. It fits a lot more than other 35L bags I've tried without being too bulky and works just as well for a 1 day trip as for a 3+ day adventure.

To be honest, I have a few travel bags, and I wanted to try this one because the pictures looked good, and the company is great—I have several other items from Western Rise.
The bag arrived just in time before a ten-day trip to Mexico.
I was immediately impressed with how much I could fit in the bag. It could hold everything from a 40-liter pack I had been using and still had room for other items.
I was initially doubtful of the straps. They seemed thin, and I thought they would not be as comfortable as my current bag with wide, thick straps, but I was wrong. The bag and straps were easy to put on, and the weight was distributed nicely. Once I adjusted them to my body, I had no issue at all with the straps.
The handles are thinner than those of other bags, which, too, surprised me. However, the straps remained strong and easy to grab throughout my trip, including when loading and unloading from a plane overhead and car trunks along the way.
The materials are top-notch, and the zippers are a pleasure compared to other bags whose zippers quickly catch on the fabric or refuse to budge.
The compartments worked exceptionally well for me, allowing me to add organization. The main compartment is well thought out, and the quick-access pocket is easy to open and use. I could actually get to my quick-access items even when the bag was full.
In summary, I could not be happier. This bag has done better than other, much more expensive offerings and will continue to get much use in…

I've been using for about a month now and can pack everything I need to hit the gym and a day in the office. I've also used it on several 3-4 day work trips and can pack everything I need without taking anything else. Another great product. Way to go Western Rise!
