Opinel knives have been produced in Savoie, in the heart of the French Alps, since 1890. With an attention to simplicity and reliability their knives are recognized as some of the best knives in the world. The company is famous for its legendary folding knives, which have graced the pockets of the world's great artists, adventurers, navigators, and mountaineers including Pablo Picasso, Roger Frison Roche, Alain Colas, Eric Tabarly, Jean-Louis Etienne, Ellen Mac Arthur, Paul Bocuse and many more. Beautifully simple, yet artfully crafted, this knife is the perfect camp and everyday tool.
This knife has a 12c27 Sandvik Stainless steel blade. The blade will not rust, however try to avoid leaving your Opinel knife in damp environments for too long and dry the blade after each use. The handle is made of wood and may expand and contract with extreme humidity (or lack of) and will temporarily affect the mechanism.
