5 Things to Do in the Buckhorn This Summer

Western Rise Buckhorn Buttondown

For too long, people have been forced to purchase clothing for one purpose. Days in the mountains involve multiple activities, so why not invest in apparel as versatile as your lifestyle.

We believe our Buckhorn Snap Shirt is the perfect all around summer mountain shirt.

Clean Western profile and loads of hidden detailslike our Nanotex water-repellency treatment. This hydrophobic and oleophobic nano-treatment coats the fabric on a molecular level, enabling it to resist and repel water, sweat, dirt/mud, wrinkles, beer—you name it.

So where do we plan to take the Buckhorn Snap Shirt this summer?

1) High Country Camping:

With four wildernesses right in our backyard, Lizard Head, Mount Sneffels, Uncompahgre and The Weminuche, we cannot wait to keep exploring the high country around Telluride and get off the beaten path.

Backpacking to Blue Lake is on our list for June and some high country creek and lake fly fishing is definitely in store for July and August.

And, with so many places to check out this summer, car camping is high on our list for some quick weekend getaways from the office.

No matter where we head, we'll surely be sporting the breathable and classic Western Buckhorn around the campfire and under the stars this summer.

2) Creekside Casting:

We love having the San Miguel River run right through town and we've already enjoyed some sunny spring afternoons on the creek. We've heard the Dolores River is a gem too.

With a key/nipper lanyard and increased sleeve articulation, we can't go wrong this summer with evenings in the Buckhorn casting dries.

3) Backroad Exploring:

Old mining roads and ruins dot the rocky ridges of the San Juan Mountains, and we can't wait to get our truck out on these backroads as wildflower season starts in July.

Sheltering from the sun and the rain, the Buckhorn will surely be on our backs during July and August's monsoon season.

From the Tomboy Mine and Ironton to Silver Lake Mine and Animas Forks, we're eager to explore the rich heritage of our mountain towns.

4) Cycling Cruising:

Whether mountain town cruising or single-track sliding, our Buckhorn is lightweight enough for a day on the trail and built with reflective detail for a night of riding to and from festivities.

We're excited to get out on some of the biking trails here in Telluride this summer and in the nearby deserts in Cortez and Moab in fall.

And, as Telluride is the perfect size for biking anywhere you please, we'll surely be taking the wheels and the Buckhorn to the market and pub this summer!

5) Town Park Kicking Back:

Summer festivals and concerts are one of our favorite things about living in a mountain town. And there seems like there's always something going on, every single weekend.

Durable, just even cover for cooler mountain nights and ready for any weather summer in the mountain's throws our way, the Buckhorn is our go-to shirt for May's approaching MountainFilm, June's GoPro Games, Telluride Bluegrass, the 4th of July, and so much more fun!

Whether tailgating, backyard barbecuing or weeknight concerts, we'll be spotted in the Buckhorn all summer long.
